Job Summary:
The Talent & Programs Coordinator supports Ampere’s growth by coordinating full-lifecycle recruitment, administering internship placement and volunteer programs, and managing tailored onboarding processes for employees, contractors, volunteers, and interns. Working in close collaboration with the Senior Human Resource Manager,  this role owns end-to-end coordination across the entire talent landscape at Ampere, including full-cycle recruitment, student placement programs, volunteer initiatives, and contractor onboarding. 

Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Talent Support
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to clarify staffing needs and assist in drafting job descriptions for open positions.
  • Post job opportunities across various channels, including job boards, social media platforms, and educational institution networks.
  • Conduct initial screenings and schedule interviews, ensuring a seamless coordination process for candidates and interview panels.
  • Administer background checks, reference checks, and offer documentation.
  • Utilizing our HRIS daily to manage recruitment and onboarding needs.
  • Work with the Senior Human Resource manager to design, track, and present comprehensive talent analytics.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment data and applicant tracking records.
  • Work alongside the People Coordinator in Nunavut to align hiring practices and support their recruitment, if required. 
Student Placement & Volunteer Program Coordination
  • Lead the develop and implement day-to-day operations for Ampere’s volunteer and internship initiatives.
  • Serve as the Human Resource Lead  for educational institutions, vocational centers, and volunteer networks.
  • Track engagement, placements, and completion milestones for volunteers and students across the organization.
Onboarding Administration
  • Continuously improve, develop and execute standardized onboarding and orientation workflows customized for different worker groups: permanent employees, independent contractors, volunteers, and student placements.
  • Ensure all post-hire documentation, compliance paperwork, and initial system setups are completed accurately and on schedule. 
Wage Subsidy 
  • Identify, prepare, and submit applications for applicable wage subsidies. 
  • Maintain tracking documentation, records, and compliance reporting required by funding bodies in coordination with Finance and Sustainable Funding. 

Attributes and Qualifications:
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in full-cycle recruitment, talent acquisition, or talent program coordination, ideally within the not-for-profit, charitable, or social impact sector.
  • Proven track record of building and managing student placement programs, academic institution partnerships, or volunteer initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience working with, engaging, or supporting hiring within Indigenous communities is an asset. 
  • Direct, practical experience identifying, applying for, and administering wage subsidies is an asset. 
  • Direct experience using Humi or similar modern HRIS platforms and managing external job portal platforms.
  • Strong relational and communication skills with an ability to build authentic partnerships across diverse community stakeholders, educational bodies, and internal teams.

Ampere prioritizes the safety of our employees and the community members we work with, because of this we may require both new hires and current team members , if 18 or older, to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) or Criminal Record Checks. The approval for acceptance of a Police Check lies with our Human Resource Team and Management. To ensure up-to-date documentation, please ensure it has not been over six months since the date of completion of the Police Check you are submitting. The expense for the Police Check falls on the individual, not the company, if there are any concerns regarding this please speak to the Human Resource Team. Additionally, please confirm you're completing the Police Check in the correct region.
