Job Title:  STEAM Educator 
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Bathurst, NB 
Salary: $18/hour
Hours:  15 -37.5 hours per week
Reports to:  Bathurst Makerspace Lead

Working alongside rural, remote, Indigenous, and other communities, Ampere delivers programs for people of all ages to cultivate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) skills through innovative technology, art, and play. It offers world-class Makerspaces, maker kits and activities, and works with educators to introduce children to a STEAM-based curriculum that brings learning to life.

Job Summary
As a  STEAM Educator, you will help deliver STEAM-based activities, ensure campers are engaged and safe, and create a positive camp experience. Working with other team members, you’ll assist in setting up activities, supervising campers, and fostering a fun, welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with STEAM-based activities for children.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
  • Support campers in learning and exploring new concepts.
  • Help set up and clean up activities and camp spaces.
  • Work collaboratively with other camp staff to create a fun experience.
  • Other duties assigned by management. 

Attributes and Qualifications: 
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.
  • Enjoy working with kids and creating a positive learning experience.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and willing to learn.
  • Comfortable assisting with hands-on activities.
  • Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with kids (e.g., babysitting, coaching, tutoring) is a plus but not required.
  • Being fluent in French is an asset.

The approval for acceptance of a VSS lies with our People and Culture Team and Management. Additionally, please confirm you're completing the VSS in the correct region.
