Responsibilities:
- Run a well-organized, busy, fun and exciting STEAM learning space where both learners and educators feel welcome, respected, and inspired.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of in-person, blended, and virtual STEAM-based and essential digital skills learning experiences for youth and adult learners in the Makerspace.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of part-time staff members, helping foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative work environment.
- Stay current on trends, ideas, and best practices in Makerspaces and creative learning environments.
- Explore and bring new approaches and ideas into Ampere’s programs where they make sense.
- Schedule programming in the Iqaluit Makerspace and, as needed, at partner locations in the community.
- Keep the Makerspace and its equipment, organized, in good working order, and ready to use for programs at all times.
- Take care of teaching and tech equipment to make sure programming runs smoothly both in the space and out in the community.
- Work with Delivery Team members and Marketing to ensure program/event info is created and shared on time for promotion.
- Create registration pages for programs or events when needed.
- Track and input attendance and feedback data for all kinds of programs, pre-registered, in-person, and live virtual sessions.
- Capture photos and videos of programming in action (with photo release forms signed), and share those stories with the team through our internal Slack channel #successstories-and-shareables.
- Help create and deliver high-quality, community-focused, hands-on STEAM and digital skills programming for learners of all ages in Iqaluit.
- Support STEAM Educators in building engaging, fun, and age-appropriate learning experiences that connect to the real world.
- Take on tasks from other departments as needed. This might include things like helping develop online courses or curriculum, designing learning materials, contributing to Root & STEM, or supporting feedback and reporting work.
